Also accepted into the PSA Fall 2006 Exhibition is Ben, oil on linen, 24 x 30, shown at right. The third painting, K.J., oil on canvas, is not shown.

The Portrait Society of Atlanta opened its Fall 2006 Members Juried Exhibition on Saturday evening, August 19, 2006 at the Mable House Cultural Arts Center in Mableton, GA. All three of my were entries accepted by juror Bart Lindstrom. At left, Juel & Juanita, Oil on Linen, 20 x 24. The others were Ben and K.J., both in oil.

Artists and Self Portraits

The last person I thought I'd ever paint was myself, but the desire to be a part of a self-portrait exhibition exceeded my lack of self-esteem in the looks department, and, voila, here I am, looking just like me!

New to the Blogging World

I have created this blog on the advice of a learned friend, who suggested that I can exhibit myself and my art here in much the same way as I do on my website, but with an easier to update format.
I am a visual artist. I draw, I paint, I teach. My genres include landcapes, still lifes, figuratives, and, especially, portraits. My passion is to draw or paint from a live model, with a likeness very much a part of what I strive to accomplish.
I also like to write, and I do so both professionally and for my own edification.
More to come...
