All three of my were entries accepted by juror Bart Lindstrom. At left, Juel & Juanita, Oil on Linen, 20 x 24. The others were Ben and K.J., both in oil.

Artists and Self Portraits

The last person I thought I'd ever paint was myself, but the desire to be a part of a self-portrait exhibition exceeded my lack of self-esteem in the looks department, and, voila, here I am, looking just like me!

New to the Blogging World

I have created this blog on the advice of a learned friend, who suggested that I can exhibit myself and my art here in much the same way as I do on my website, but with an easier to update format.
I am a visual artist. I draw, I paint, I teach. My genres include landcapes, still lifes, figuratives, and, especially, portraits. My passion is to draw or paint from a live model, with a likeness very much a part of what I strive to accomplish.
I also like to write, and I do so both professionally and for my own edification.
More to come...
